Beyond the Spill film premiere and concert next Wednesday!

Apr 14th, 2011 by Jim

Just a reminder that Gulfsongs and PDX 2 Gulf Coast have a fantastic program scheduled for next Wednesday, April 20th, at the Alberta Rose Theatre.

Tickets for Beyond the Spill are moving and we want to let you know we have a special price for high school students and younger.  If accompanied by an adult, the student price at the door is just $5.  This will be a great evening of entertaining education – about the oil spill and its effects, about our energy future and need to move away from our dependence on fossil fuels, …. and about the rich history and significance of the music born of New Orleans.  The evening is about the deep connection of environment, people, and culture that make the region critically important in more ways than we can imagine.

It’s a very special program you don’t want to miss to mark one year since the well blowout that began the disastrous spill in the Gulf.  This event will also raise funds for environmental education, wetlands restoration, and to help communities in south Louisiana still economically hurting from the spill.

Get your tickets online at the Alberta Rose Theatre.
