Sponsor and Underwriting Opportunity from Gulfsongs Oregon

What is Gulfsongs Oregon?

Gulfsongs Oregon is an ongoing series of music performance events to benefit selected non-profit organizations actively involved in oil spill recovery and assistance efforts along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Currently, shows are scheduled at venues in Portland and Eugene from July 15 through the end of September.

Multiple events are being scheduled with 8-12 venues that span the musical genres of Folk/Americana, Jazz, Blues, R & B, Indie Pop and Rock.

The money raised through Gulfsongs Oregon will go directly to support the people of the coastal areas of Louisiana being directly affected by the oil spill. To leverage the maximum value of the these funds, they will go directly to two established aid organizations already in place in the region that provide ongoing relief efforts in the local communities.

Beneficiary Organizations:

Gulf Aid Acadiana: http://www.gulfaidacadiana.org
Second Harvest Food Bank of New Orleans/Acadiana: http://www.no-hunger.org

Why sponsorship?

The tragedy unfolding along the Gulf Coast presents a compelling case for Gulfsongs Oregon. Since Hurricane Katrina, the musical and cultural connections between the two areas of the country have been growing steadily. In every crisis, musicians are among the first to step up to raise money  - whether it’s in their own community or global.  They contribute their art and often expect nothing but the chance to perform.  We feel that acknowledging their contributions to this effort is a way to respect those contributions they selflessly make. Venues have reduced costs for these events, but we also want to make sure their costs are covered for every scheduled show.

What are the sponsorship options?

Single event sponsorships of  $400-1000

What’s the benefit to your organization?

Beyond showing you care about helping people who are being directly affected by the massive oil spill in the Gulf, you can gain recognition from those attending shows, visiting the website and exploring the fundraising materials that Gulfsongs Oregon will make available.

For instance, if you are part of the power or transportation industries – whether traditional or alternative – addressing our dependence on fossil fuels that are becoming more and more difficult and dangerous to recover is an effort we all need to be part of.  This is an opportunity to get your message out about your part in this effort.

Event Sponsor:

  • Announcement at the show of sponsorship
  • Signage at the Gulfsongs Oregon table and venue acknowledging sponsorship
  • Acknowledgement of sponsorship on Gulfsongs Oregon website and Facebook event page and in Oregon Music News ads
  • Acknowledgement of sponsorship on series event posters
  • Event admittance

We are looking for single $400 sponsors for each of the remaining shows at the White Eagle Saloon (Aug 19 & Sept 16),  Biddy McGraw’s (Sept 3), and the Trails End Saloon (Sept 12).  We would like either a $1000 sponsor or two or three $400 sponsors for the Mississippi Studios and the Alberta Rose shows (Sept 2 and 25, respectively).

Please contact Jim <jim.friscia AT gmail.com> if you are interested in discussing sponsorships.
